Goals of the joint CIRCOM Regional/European Parliament workshop New Formats: Conveying the Message are:
- To engage the younger electorate in the issues of the forthcoming European Elections
- Learn about what new formats are being used in the media
- Learn how to cover the news using a multi-format, multi-outlet approach in preparation of the European elections
- Lead a social content and video production operation in training with the delegates from the journalists group
- Debrief and feedback on what was learned

Since only 6 participants can take part in the workshop, there will be four editions of the workshop19th - 21st November 2018 at EP in Brussels, 15th - 17th January 2019 at the EP in Strasbourg, 4th - 6th February 2019 in Brussels and the last one 25th - 27th February 2019 in Brussels too.

The workshops are organized for journalists, editors and content producers working for media of EU member states participating in the European Elections in 2019 only. The working language is English. Thebasic experience with editorial content production for social media is required.

Expert trainers Thilo Kasper (Head of the video department, Zeit online, DE) and Guillaume Kuster (Media Trainer, Consultant & Journalist, Tarkka Media, FI) will guide participants through the world of online video, advise and equip them with the best methods to identify and target the audience and train them to produce engaging formats tailored for the specific target groups.

The first edition of the workshop was held 19 - 21 Nov 2018, with 6 journalists from Germany, Austria, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Spain:

Workshops are provided free of charge. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs will be reimbursed by the European Parliament according to the Parliament's Rules in force.

You will be informed if your candidacy has been selected by CIRCOM. CIRCOM will communicate the candidates' names to the European Parliament. Successful candidates will then receive an official invitation from the Audiovisual Unit of the European Parliament with all the necessary information, including the reimbursement Rules. Please do not make any travel or hotel reservation prior to obtaining the EP invitation.
