ccp logo 335Citizenship Co-production Project - round 5 
(September 2017 - June 2018)

Twelve TV stations, all CIRCOM members, took part in 5th edition of the Citizenship co-production project. Thanks to a grant from the European Parliament, they produced, in total editorial independence, 48 stories about European matters, giving a voice to the citizens of the continent.

Each of the 12 co-production members produced four stories locally and make them available to all other CIRCOM members to broadcast. The production started in September 2017 and lasted until June 2018.

Four main topics of the 5th edition of the Citizenship co-production project:

  • Jobs (end of November 2017)
    sub-themes: Gender & Market – “Chabada” Law (Un homme/Une femme) -  Sustainable growth – Global/Local – Best practices – Youth (un) employment – Brain drain – exodus abroad – Senior – Retirement – Forever young

  • Feeling Safe (mid of January 2018)

The Citizenship project developed the inclusion of interviews and reports with Members of the European Parliament. Sixteen items were put together around the four themes of the project: Jobs, Feeling safe, Values in question and Innovation paradox.

The fifth round of the project was kickstarted on October 10th 2017 as members held their first editorial meeting in Brussels, during the European Week of Regions and Cities 2018.

The Citizenship project has been running successfully from 2013. Appart from the current round 5, there were 4 previous rounds of the project:

The entire collection of stories produced within the project is available to all CIRCOM Regional members, free of charge, in order to have a wide European broadcasting of the material. It is a fact that as Regional Public Service Broadcasters are defending freedom of speech, it gives them the credibility to broadcast this kind of stories as close as possible to the European citizens. The project shows a great commitment of Regional Public Media in the public debate about the future of the European citizens!
