The winner of the Grand Prix of Prix CIRCOM has been announced as How Did I Live in a Forest... (Cum am trait intr-o padure...) from TVR Timisoara in Romania. The winner receives a trophy and 2000 euros.

The award, sponsored by TVP Poland, was announced in an online gala event on Wednesday 12 May 2021.

The programme, which won the category Minorities in Society, was about aged and poor recluses clinging on to a lonely life in remote Romanian hillsides and how help has been found for them.

On receiving the award, producer Dite Dinesz said:

The Special Award of the Grand Prix was won by Imagine 2020 (Samhlú 2020) from TG4 Ireland in Galway. This had previously won the category Most Original and Innovative and was an imaginative view of the Galway culture festival which the pandemic prevented. The award was sponsored by BNT Bulgaria.

David Lowen, President of the Prix CIRCOM, said: “These were truly outstanding programmes from almost 200 entries from 23 countries. The 24 judges were greatly impressed by the quality of many entries – but these two programmes are worthy of applause and viewing by all. Congratulations”.
