In January, February and March of 2022 CIRCOM runs online workshops, each featuring experts in different aspects of Mobile Journalism,  for anyone involved in practicing MoJo or for those who want to find out more.

55 media professionals from 15 countries participated in the session two of a series, hosted by award-winning BBC producer and trainer Mark Robertson. This session highlighted “How to get the best stills with your device”.

In the modern television newsroom, the role of the reporter is broader now than ever before. As well as delivering their TV package, there is an increasing expectation for written copy, and also still photographs to support their output.

The smartphone is a tool which can be used to fulfil all of these needs - but beyond the obvious “point and press” style of photography, how can we use the device to add extra value? In this session Mark Roberston provided tips and tools to help journalists achieve the best stills they can, using their smartphone.
