The second largest festival of scienes in Germany – „The Long Night of Sciences“ in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen - was a complete success for CIRCOM Regional.
Invited from LIKE - the Chair of Information Technologies of Erlangen-Nürnberg University and the Fraunhofer Institute IIS in Erlangen, CIRCOM Regional presented live broadcasted Mobile TV contents.

Togehter with the scientists from LIKE and Fraunhofer Institute, Andres Eben and Tobias Hellmuth from CIRCOM Regional in face to face demonstrations offered the 3500 visitors the opportunity to watch a content bouquet, live broadcasted via the DVB-H / DVB-SH technology (Digital Video Broadcasting – Handheld / Satellite Handheld) on mobile phones at the Fraunhofer Institute IIS.

Due to the features and benefits of this new way of mobile television, CIRCOM Regional showed and illustrated its objectives and activities as well as his training programmes.

On the 24th of October more than 20.000 visitors took the opportunity to have a look behind the scenes of the educational and research institutions.
The "Long Night of Science" was organized by the universities in Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen, the Max Planck Institute, and the two Fraunhofer Institutes in Erlangen and a lot of various companies including the CIRCOM member station Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR).

In the best of spirits, about 5000 scientists offered the possibility to take hands-on the latest state of the art technology in science developments as well as in medicine and health in front of a very attentive audience.
