Climate crisis workshop: how regional journalism can better tell the biggest story of our time

It’s the biggest story of our times, and the European Parliament and CIRCOM Regional are offering you the chance to take part in a brand-new workshop on how regional television is telling the story of the Climate Crisis.

But which story are you telling? Where are you getting your information and how are you evaluating competing views? Most importantly, what affect is your coverage having on the public’s understanding of this issue and how they subsequently behave? Does ‘Constructive journalism’ have a role to play here?

This 3-day interactive workshop offers journalists the opportunity to discuss the latest thinking about how best to engage audiences in the climate story and to learn best practice from European colleagues.

The workshop is designed for experienced journalists with a proven interest and background in European matters who are tasked with telling the story of the climate emergency for their station. They do need a high level of spoken English and to be comfortable in open discussions. The event runs from 1400hrs on Mon 27 April ‘til 1300hrs on Wed 29 April at the European Parliament in Brussels.
