CIRCOM’s Training the Trainers Top Scores Again
BBC Academy, Bristol, 2nd – 6th February 2015
Course Leader: Simon Major
This is the 9th time that the Training the Trainers workshop has taken place and year on year it has continually scored high from those who have attended. This year has been no exception with feedback ratings reaching 96% out of 100. The results were the highest received for a CIRCOM training course and thanks can go to the whole training team of Simon Major, Mia Costello, Karol Cioma and Tracy Hall for their professionalism and expertise.
Eleven people from 10 countries joined the 5-day CIRCOM workshop at the BBC, College of Journalism Centre in Bristol, UK.
The workshop is designed to introduce seasoned professionals to the skills needed to be an effective trainer or coach. Aligned to this delegates are required to design a training course, deliver one to one coaching sessions and to provide constructive and valuable feedback to trainees.
These are some of the comments the delegates made about the workshop:
I feel every aspect was well designed, relevant and useful
Keith Hyland, Lighting Director RTE, Ireland
The whole course focused on the trainer’s skills development. Within this context I found most interesting the attention of the trainers to each participant’s personal needs by constructive criticism on our performances. It was also an intense experience because of the variety of methods used during the session.
Kinga Gaspar, Media Academy, MTVA Hungary
For me, every day was well organised (interesting, educating, informative…) so I really didn’t have any least interesting /relevant moments.
Igor Kumanovic, Senior Technician, HRT Croatia
Honestly, I can’t remember anything that I didn’t find immensely relevant!
Henrik Aboren
The divergence in culture, background. It was a feast of interaction and learning in this way.
Ype Van Kammen, Human Resources Manager, Omrop Fryslan, The Netherlands
I really felt the whole course was empowering us. It gave us a set of skills useful in many aspects of our work.
Adrian Roca-Rosenberg, News & Sport Executive Producer, TVR Cluj, Romania
I found the theories about how different types of people learn very interesting. Also how to give structure to the training, and how to involve the participants. I really hope the plans for these courses can be prolonged, so there would be a course like this in Circom for years to come.
